![]() ![]() The Nintendo 3DS did that in 2010 and it’s always Nintendo’s policy to use “lateral thinking with withered technology”. I know that Google translate has something similar, and AR recognition of anchors is not only a solved problem, it’s ancient tech by now. ![]() I would love to replay the game and use some kind of AR tool to decode stuff around. So I wondered if it’s possible to somehow automate decoding of the sheikah script. So anyway! Turns out that the sheikah alphabet has been decoded and if you read text imprinted around in the game, you will find out many silly little easter eggs: But I forgive them, it was their first real attempt at actually coming up with an offering in the modern open world game landscape, and I’m certain that the sequel is going to be much more meaty :) I love the archeo-futuristic aesthetic that the game has in these segments, even if I believe that the game committed many sins in its design (the shrines are too unsubstantial and limited, and they are basically portal test chambers instead of actual zelda dungeons). In The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, there’s a plethora of Sheikah script scattered around the game. You see, I have this little acryllic thing which shines with LEDs, with a legend of zelda motif, using the Sheikah alphabet. I was looking at my nintendo switch stand the other time and I wondered what kind of message was encrypted in there. I developed a Sheikah Rune Translator with AWS Rekognition (Part 1) ![]()
